Young Scrappers LEAP DAY Blog Hop – {List of Unachievements}
I belong to a little group called Young Scrappers at Two Peas in a Bucket. They are a bunch of great, easy going girls (in their 20s & 30s), and I’m so glad to have found a place I can call home in the vast sea of scrapbook forumers. We’re doing our first blog hop (first after I joined anyway) on the leap day!
This layout features one of my all-time favorite photos of my son. This was taken on the day he turned 9 months. He was sitting there in the Charlie Brown shirt flashing a big toothless grin, while I snatched the photo. I immediately thought all the milestones he should’ve reached but hadn’t, and he looked so silly, content and happy in the photo. I posted this photo on my facebook wall with the list of “UN-achievements” describing all his failed milestones. Even though I hadn’t scrapbooked at that time, as soon as I started scrapbooking, I knew it would be one of my must-do layouts.
Those of us with busy lives (who isn’t?), remembering what to scrap and what to journal is not an easy task. Aren’t we always catching up, scrapbooking photos than a few months or even years ago? I find facebook a great way to document important photos and stories that go with them. I’ve been diligent in writing the caption on facebook, and/or my photo editing software (Lightroom), and they are an invaluable source for my pages. If I didn’t record this, there’s no way I’d remember what milestones he reached or not.
I didn’t plan this layout. I knew I wanted to use this round, die-cut My Mind’s Eye paper from my last order. There are a few new orders coming in so I want to use up that batch before I’m drowned in paper, albeit beautiful paper.
Here’s the final layout. I copied and pasted the journaling from my facebook album.
One of many things I learned from Paperclipping membership videos, is Diamond Glaze. I’ve never heard of it before I watched Noell Hyman’s videos. It is very strong, acid-free, and dries completely clear. It’s stronger than glue dots, and is almost invisible. Most importantly, it doesn’t buckle paper. I find twine, or any fabric for that matter, tricky to glue down. I tried liquid glue but it made the twine fuzzy and wasn’t very secure. This time I tried diamond glaze, and isn’t it hard to tell from the photo where I used it?

Now I need to go find some Diamond Glaze — where do you buy it?
Thank you, Rosie! It’s available at scrapbook.com. But it was out of stock last week. So I grabbed it at a local scrapbook store. I don’t think M or J carry them, but specialized scrapbook store should.
